Our gasoline powered, walk-behind dethatcher (Power Rake, de-thatcher) easily pulls dead grass, leaves and thatch out of your lawn, which will allow your lawn to grow thicker and healthier.
De-thatching should be done before aeration (check out aerator rental), seeding or fertilizing (check out lawn fertilizer rentals) your lawn.
Finally, for best results on thick grass, you should power rake (dethatch) twice a year. The lawn should be dethatched when it is actively growing and the soil is moderately moist. The best time of year for dethatching is the same as for aerating: early spring or early fall for cool-season grasses, and late spring through early summer (after the second mowing) for warm-season grasses.
